The NAD C 316BEE V2 is a budget reference amplifier that offers a combination of high current drive and undistorted dynamic power. This is achieved through NAD's PowerDrive Circuit, which monitors the operating condition of the power amplifier to automatically optimize the power supply settings for maximum power and low distortion in real-world music listening. The PowerDrive Circuit is a sophisticated 'analogue computer' that determines the optimal settings and is now available in this budget-friendly model, thanks to the development of a new computation circuit by NAD's Director of Advanced Development, Bjorn Erik Edvardsen.
This budget amplifier is packed with all the hallmarks of NAD technology, including a generously sized toroidal power transformer, low ESR smoothing capacitors, multiple regulated secondary supplies, and heavy-duty discrete output transistors. It is every bit as refined and sophisticated as other NAD amplifiers, and will set new benchmarks for performance at its affordable price point. Unless you have power-hungry speakers, listen at dangerously loud levels, or have a large room, the C 316BEE V2 is the perfect amplifier for you.
In terms of simplicity, the C 316BEE V2 has everything necessary for musical enjoyment, with six inputs, one set of speakers, a headphone jack, and full function remote control. It has a compact size and an understated exterior, making it essential NAD. Despite its limited features, it is fully equipped to be the control center for a high-performance music system, with five line level inputs, an MM Phono Input, a front panel input for a phone or tablet, and defeatable tone controls.
The continuous power of the C 316BEE V2 is a conservative 40 watts, but its dynamic power (more important for music listening) is over 100 watts, making it one of the most usable amplifiers in its price range. This high technology results in a relaxed and inviting sound that brings out the subtle details in your favorite recordings, presents them across a panoramic stereo sound stage, and makes the music sound articulate and alive. The silent background and low distortion give a sense of solidity and presence to your music and bring out the best in your loudspeakers.
