Why Choose Vinyl?

That tactile feel of flipping through a stack of vinyl remains one of life's simple pleasures. - Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)

Vinyl records have existed as a format for almost 100 years. It is the original and most durable form of producing and archiving sound. Even those early records created in the pre-depression era can still be played, and with today’s equipment and can sound better than they did when they were originally enjoyed in that by-gone era. A vinyl record is an analog recording, which means the sound is presented in what’s called a lossless format. That means nothing has been lost when pressing a record. It sounds as good as the producer or band intended. Vinyl records have a non-stop groove carved (or pressed) into it that mirrors the original sound's waveform. This means that no information is lost. The cutting head that creates the master never leaves the surface so it creates a sound that includes everything that was recorded with the resonance of the room included. This is sometimes described as “the warm sound of vinyl”. When you play vinyl the sound can be fed directly to your amplifier with no conversion creating the most accurate sound possible, and that can be heard in the richness of the sound.

Audiophiles prefer vinyl with a two-channel audio receiver and dynamic speakers to enjoy the truest most original sounds that were created by the band. Despite being a 100 year old format it is still the very best and most popular way to listen to music.
