Definitive Technology Dymension speakers in a home theater
Dymension series · Home theater, music & installation

Big sound. More ways to make it yours.

Start with the room and the way you want to listen. Choose a freestanding theater, slim speakers beside the screen, hidden architectural audio, or sound outdoors. We’ll help match the speakers, amplification, bass, and placement.

Dymension tower speakers

An expansive soundstage for movies & music

Dymension tower speakers

The DM80, DM70, DM60, and slim DM40 bring Definitive Technology’s bipolar approach to a choice of room sizes. Drivers radiate toward the front and rear to create a broad, enveloping presentation.

DM80, DM70, and DM60 include powered subwoofer sections and need AC power as well as speaker wiring from an amplifier. DM40 uses a different bass design. We’ll plan rear-wall clearance and receiver settings.

Dymension centers, surrounds & height

Build a balanced home theater

Dymension centers, surrounds & height

Choose DM30, DM20, or DM10 for the center channel, with DM95 surround/height speakers and DM90 add-on height modules where appropriate. Keep dialogue, effects, and overhead sound coordinated around the seating.

DM90 fits DM80 and DM70 towers only and needs compatible receiver height channels and additional wiring. Upward-firing performance depends on ceiling conditions. DM30 also includes powered bass.

Descend subwoofers

A foundation for music & movie impact

Descend subwoofers

The DN8, DN10, DN12, and DN15 offer a range of sizes for bass reinforcement. Descend’s 3XR approach combines a powered driver with two passive radiators to extend output without a conventional port.

We’ll consider room volume, listening level, placement, and whether one or multiple subwoofers make sense. Built-in tower bass does not automatically replace a dedicated subwoofer for every theater.

Mythos on-wall speakers

Slim sound around the screen

Mythos on-wall speakers

Mythos LCR-65, LCR-75, and LCR-85 speakers can serve left, center, or right channels. The 3C-65, 3C-75, and 3C-85 place three front channels into one slim cabinet for a clean TV installation.

Mythos 3C models are passive sound bars: they need external amplification for their separate channels. They are not self-powered HDMI soundbars. We’ll match dimensions, brackets, and a suitable receiver.

Dymension CI architectural audio

In-wall & in-ceiling · MAX and PRO

Dymension CI architectural audio

Explore CI MAX and CI PRO options for home theater and whole-home listening. Flush grilles and model-specific aiming features help integrate the system into the room while keeping the visual footprint low.

We’ll check cavity depth, framing, wiring routes, speaker coverage, and the right model for each position before any cutouts. Architectural speakers still require amplification and speaker cable.

Dymension Outdoor

Sound for patios, gardens & outdoor rooms

Dymension Outdoor

Choose from AW surface-mount speakers, landscape satellites, and buried landscape subwoofers to build coverage around the areas you use. The range supports both focused patio systems and broader outdoor projects.

Plan coverage, amplifier compatibility, cable runs, mounting, drainage, and exposure around the exact models. An outdoor rating is not permission to submerge a speaker or ignore installation guidance.

Definitive Technology Dymension CI architectural speaker installation

A projector is part of a room

The room is
part of the system.

A speaker range is only the starting point. Seating, placement, wall construction, amplification, and bass management determine how the finished system performs. We’ll plan those details together.

Placement & coverage

Plan the front stage, dialogue channel, surrounds, and any height speakers around the seats. Bipolar towers need room to interact with the rear wall; installed and outdoor speakers need planned coverage.

Amplification & power

Match receiver or amplifier channels and capability to the chosen speakers. Powered bass sections need AC power but do not turn a passive speaker into a wireless, self-contained system.

Bass management

Coordinate tower bass, dedicated subwoofers, crossover settings, level, and timing. More bass output is useful when it is integrated with the rest of the system.

Wiring, mounting & setup

Check furniture clearance, wall and ceiling cavities, brackets, cable routes, and access. Finish with receiver configuration, calibration, and an explanation of everyday controls.

Before you choose.

What is a bipolar speaker?

A bipolar speaker uses drivers facing in more than one direction, including the rear, to create a more expansive sound field. Placement and nearby surfaces matter. We’ll consider the room and listening positions before recommending towers.

Do speakers with powered bass still need a receiver?

Yes. A built-in subwoofer amplifier powers the bass section; the main speaker still connects to a suitable receiver or amplifier. Powered models also need AC power. We’ll confirm the connections for your exact speaker.

Can DM90 height modules fit any Dymension tower?

No. DM90 modules are designed for DM80 and DM70. They also require appropriate height-channel wiring and compatible AV electronics. We can assess reflected-height speakers against installed overhead options for your room.

Is a Mythos 3C a typical powered soundbar?

No. Mythos 3C models house passive left, center, and right speaker channels in one cabinet. They require external amplification and speaker wiring. We’ll design the receiver, bass, and surround channels around them.

Can architectural speakers be added to an existing room?

Often, subject to framing, cavity depth, cable access, insulation, and other services. Share photos or plans so we can assess the installation before choosing speakers or cutting walls and ceilings.
