Compact, controlled bass for music and home theater. The Sonus Faber Gravis I is the most compact powered subwoofer in the Gravis collection, designed for smaller listening spaces and systems that need deeper low-frequency extension without an oversized cabinet. Its sealed, down-firing architecture combines an 8-inch very-long-throw woofer with a high-linearity 150-watt RMS Class AB amplifier.
Natural, Expressive Bass in a Compact Cabinet
The Gravis I is engineered to add weight and depth while preserving the texture, timing, and musical character of the main loudspeakers. Its treated-paper woofer uses a wide rubber surround and generous excursion to reproduce low frequencies with control, while the closed-box enclosure supports a tight, well-damped response. Bass extends down to 30 Hz at -6 dB, giving music greater scale and home theater soundtracks more impact.
Designed to Integrate with Your System
Flexible controls make the Gravis I suitable for both two-channel and home theater systems. The continuously adjustable 30–120 Hz crossover helps blend the subwoofer with compact bookshelf speakers or larger floorstanding models, while a 0/180-degree phase switch assists with room placement and timing. Independent Master and LFE volume controls make it easier to optimize playback for different sources and applications.
- Adjustable crossover from 30 to 120 Hz with a 24 dB-per-octave slope
- Independent Master and LFE level controls
- Selectable 0/180-degree phase
- Automatic signal-sensing power mode that can be switched off
Flexible Connections for Stereo and Home Theater
The rear panel provides three practical connection methods. A mono RCA LFE input connects directly to an AV receiver or surround processor. A separate mono RCA line input supports stereo preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers with a subwoofer output. For traditional two-channel systems without a dedicated sub output, the high-level Neutrik Speakon connection allows the Gravis I to receive a speaker-level signal.
Made to Complement Sonus Faber Loudspeakers
Sonus Faber designed the Gravis I to visually and acoustically complement the Lumina collection and smaller Sonetto bookshelf speakers, including the Sonetto I and Sonetto II. Its compact proportions also make it an elegant low-frequency partner for many other stereo and home theater systems. A leather top embossed with the Sonus Faber logo adds a distinctive finishing touch.
Choose from four finishes to coordinate with your room and loudspeakers: Walnut Wood, Wenge Wood, Matte White Lacquer, or Piano Black Lacquer.
