The Sonus Faber Lilium is a reference-level floorstanding loudspeaker that brings technology derived from the flagship Aida into a more approachable—and unmistakably sculptural—form. Its distinctive dual-cabinet architecture separates the infra-bass system from the midrange and high-frequency enclosure, allowing Lilium to reproduce music with exceptional scale, clarity, dimensionality, and low-frequency authority.
With a specified frequency response of 20 Hz to 35,000 Hz, 92 dB sensitivity, and support for amplifiers rated from 100 to 800 watts per channel, Lilium is designed for ambitious two-channel systems and large listening rooms where effortless dynamics and precise control are equally important.
Reference Performance Inspired by Aida
Lilium draws directly from the engineering philosophy of Sonus faber’s Aida while presenting it in a more room-friendly design. Its flowing lyre-shaped profile is inspired by the lily flower and combines high-gloss wood, black leather, brushed anodized aluminum, and carefully integrated structural elements into a cabinet that is both acoustically functional and visually commanding.
The curved enclosure minimizes parallel internal surfaces, while extensive mechanical decoupling helps prevent cabinet energy from reaching the floor. The result is a quieter structural foundation that allows the drivers and crossover network to operate with greater precision.
Dual-Cabinet Low-Frequency Architecture
Unlike a conventional floorstanding speaker, Lilium uses two acoustically independent enclosures. The visible forward cabinet houses the tweeter, midrange driver, and three woofers, while a separate rear chamber is dedicated to the infrawoofer and passive radiator.
This arrangement functions as an inverted 3.5-way system with an omnidirectional infra-bass section. A transparent top plate reveals the upward-facing passive radiator, while the 260 mm infrawoofer directs its energy toward the floor. By separating the deepest bass from the primary acoustic enclosure, Lilium reduces interaction between the low-frequency system and the drivers responsible for vocals, instruments, and spatial detail.
Deep Low Control
A rear-panel Deep Low Control allows the infra-bass level and damping to be adjusted for the room, speaker placement, and listener preference. This tuning system helps Lilium maintain deep extension without becoming excessive in acoustically lively spaces or when positioned closer to room boundaries.

Arrow Point DAD Tweeter
The 28 mm H28 XTR-04 moving-coil tweeter uses Sonus faber’s Arrow Point Damped Apex Dome technology. Its mechanical damping system controls the center of the dome to improve high-frequency extension, transient behavior, and smoothness.
Aida-Derived Midrange
The dedicated 180 mm M18 XTR-04 midrange employs a neodymium magnet system and technology derived from Aida. It is engineered to reproduce voices and acoustic instruments with natural texture, tonal density, and precise articulation.

Three 180 mm W18XTR-16 woofers use sandwich diaphragms built around a high-tech synthetic foam core with external cellulose-pulp skins. The lightweight but rigid construction supports fast acceleration, controlled decay, and powerful upper-bass reproduction.
260 mm Nano-Carbon Infrawoofer and Passive Radiator
The dedicated 260 mm SW26XT-08 infrawoofer uses a syntactic-foam core with external nano-carbon-fiber skins. It operates with a matching 260 mm passive radiator to extend the system to a specified 20 Hz while preserving the speed and definition required for seamless integration with the front-mounted woofers.
