Sonus Faber Stradivari G2 Floorstanding Speakers
The Sonus Faber Stradivari G2 is a large-scale reference loudspeaker created in honor of legendary Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari. Introduced twenty years after the original Stradivari, this second-generation design combines the unmistakable wide-front baffle and handcrafted Italian cabinet with modern driver, crossover, bass-loading, and room-tuning technologies.
Its distinctive elliptical enclosure is designed to project a broad, stable soundstage while minimizing internal standing waves. Seven layers of lacquer, Italian leather, aluminum architecture, and meticulously finished wood surfaces give the Stradivari G2 the presence of a fine musical instrument as well as a reference-class loudspeaker.
Expansive Sound with Room-Tunable Bass
The Stradivari G2 uses a 3.5-way architecture with a 28 mm DAD Arrow Point tweeter, a 150 mm neodymium midrange driver, and two 260 mm woofers featuring Sonus Faber’s Dual Drive Motor System. The midrange operates in a sealed Intono chamber to reduce cavity resonances and preserve natural vocal and instrumental timbre.
Low frequencies are managed through the Stealth Ultraflex system and Sonus Faber’s Clepsydra reflex geometry. A down-firing hourglass-shaped port supports deep bass while allowing greater placement flexibility. The integrated Low Frequency Adjuster provides three tuning positions so the speaker’s low-frequency response can be better matched to the listening room.
Phase-Coherent Crossover and Reference-Grade Engineering
Sonus Faber’s Phase Coherent IFF crossover topology is designed to preserve timing, tonal balance, and spatial realism across the drivers. High-quality crossover components support clarity and composure at both intimate and realistic listening levels, while ZVT decoupling spikes mechanically ground each cabinet.
Designed for Large Listening Rooms
With 92 dB sensitivity, a 4-ohm nominal impedance, and recommended amplifier power of 100 to 600 watts per channel, the Stradivari G2 is intended for high-performance amplification and substantial listening spaces. Its scale, dynamic capability, and 25 Hz bass extension make it especially well suited to full orchestral music, jazz, rock, and recordings where a wide, enveloping soundstage is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Sonus Faber Stradivari G2 sold as a pair?
Yes. This listing is for a matched stereo pair.
What size room is best for Stradivari G2?
Its broad cabinet, deep bass extension, and large-scale presentation are best suited to medium-large and large dedicated listening rooms. Final positioning and Low Frequency Adjuster settings should be optimized in the room.
What amplifier should I use?
Sonus Faber recommends 100 to 600 watts per channel of clean, undistorted power. Current delivery and stability into a 4-ohm load are as important as the headline wattage.
Can the bass response be adjusted?
Yes. The Low Frequency Adjuster offers three tuning positions to help tailor the low-frequency balance to the room and placement.
Can the speakers be bi-wired or bi-amplified?
Yes. Four binding posts provide separate Mid-High and Low connections.
