An Insatiable High

Masayoshi Takanaka’s 1977 album An Insatiable High brings his fluid, melodic guitar style into a polished blend of Japanese jazz fusion, funk, and West Coast studio musicianship. Recorded in Los Angeles, the album features an accomplished supporting cast that includes Lee Ritenour, Harvey Mason, and Chuck Rainey.

This limited Japanese edition presents the album on 180-gram clear yellow vinyl. High-resolution audio sourced from the original master tapes was remastered and cut by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios, giving the record a carefully prepared modern presentation while retaining the character of the original recording.
