Danzig I on RSD Essential White Vinyl
Danzig’s self-titled 1988 debut remains a defining fusion of heavy metal, blues-soaked hard rock, punk attitude, and Glenn Danzig’s unmistakable baritone. Produced by Rick Rubin, Danzig I introduced the original lineup of Glenn Danzig, John Christ, Eerie Von, and Chuck Biscuits through ten lean, menacing tracks, including the enduring classics “Mother,” “Twist of Cain,” “She Rides,” and “Am I Demon.”
This RSD Essential No. 91 edition presents the landmark album on opaque white vinyl in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves. The stark white pressing provides a dramatic contrast to the album’s iconic black-and-white horned-skull artwork, making it a distinctive edition for Danzig and classic-metal collections.

About Danzig I
Following his work with the Misfits and Samhain, Glenn Danzig formed Danzig and recorded the band’s debut with producer Rick Rubin. The resulting album paired stripped-down, muscular arrangements with blues influence, gothic atmosphere, and arena-sized hooks. Its slow-burning success—driven in particular by “Mother”—made it the band’s best-known release and a cornerstone of late-1980s heavy music.
