Fuyü-Kükan (+1) is the celebrated 1983 album by Japanese singer-songwriter Tomoko Aran, returning in a definitive 2026 Japanese 180-gram, 45 RPM double-vinyl edition. A cornerstone of Japanese city pop, the album blends polished synth-pop, funk, jazz-influenced arrangements and nocturnal atmosphere. Its standout single “Midnight Pretenders” found a new generation of listeners after being sampled in The Weeknd's “Out of Time.”
This special edition draws on the 2022 DSD restorations and, for the first time on vinyl, includes the previously excluded version of “Ji·re·n·ma (25-sai no Yuutsu).” The extra track restores the album sequence initially envisioned for the 1983 recording. Cut at 45 RPM and pressed on heavyweight black vinyl across two LPs, this is a particularly desirable edition for city pop collectors and hi-fi listeners.
