Introducing the Gris Piano Collections: a selection of fifteen beautifully arranged pieces from Nomada Studio's evocative game GRIS. Composed by Berlinist, arranged and engraved for piano by David Peacock, and performed by Augustine Mayuga Gonzales, this album offers a deeply emotional journey through the game's soundtrack.
The arrangements in this collection guide the listener (or performer, if playing the sheet music) through the spectrum of emotions experienced by the protagonist as she heals from trauma. The piano serves as a vehicle for this journey, similar to how Gris's dress adds more color as the story progresses. Each piece reflects the stages of healing and transformation, capturing the essence of the game's narrative.
Note: The album features audible effects of Wow and Flutter, small frequency fluctuations caused by irregular turntable motion. This is more noticeable in string and piano recordings, and to some, these imperfections add to the aesthetic of enjoying vinyl as a playback medium.
Arranged by David Peacock and performed by Augustine Mayuga Gonzales, the album was mastered and cut for vinyl by Jett Galindo at The Bakery®. Art by Nomada Studio, with layout and product design by Rozen and Isa Alcántara.
This album includes performances of all arrangements from the Gris Piano Collections sheet music published by Materia Editions. Some songs from the original Gris soundtrack were arranged and recorded as medleys.
