I am...

Ayumi Hamasaki - I am... (Vinyl)

Ayumi Hamasaki’s I am... is her fourth studio album, originally released on January 1, 2002. Considered one of the most personal and defining works of her career, the album marked a major creative shift as Hamasaki began composing under the pseudonym Crea, taking a more hands-on role in shaping her sound.

Written during a turbulent period following the events of September 11, 2001, I am... reflects a deeper, more introspective tone compared to her earlier releases. Themes of identity, conflict, and emotional resilience run throughout the album, giving it a stronger conceptual focus while maintaining her signature pop sensibilities.

The album features several major hit singles, including “Dearest,” “evolution,” “Endless Sorrow,” and “UNITE!” These tracks showcase a blend of J-pop, rock, and electronic influences, highlighting Hamasaki’s evolving artistry and helping the album become one of the best-selling releases of her career.

This 2LP vinyl edition, released as part of Japanese reissue campaigns, presents I am... across four sides for improved sound quality and collectibility. For fans of Ayumi Hamasaki and early-2000s J-pop, this album remains an essential addition to any vinyl collection.
