The design
The Magico M9 floorstanding loudspeakers represent the most ambitious expression of Magico’s approach to enclosure construction, driver engineering and full-range music reproduction. This four-way, six-driver loudspeaker system combines an immense carbon-fiber enclosure, eighth-generation Nano-Tec drivers and the purpose-built Magico MXO active analog crossover.
At 80 inches tall and approximately 1,000 pounds per loudspeaker, the Magico M9 requires considerably more planning than a conventional pair of floorstanding speakers. Room dimensions, floor structure, electrical service, amplification, equipment placement and delivery access should all be evaluated before installation.
A loudspeaker cabinet should provide a rigid foundation for its drivers without storing and releasing energy of its own. To accomplish this, the Magico M9 uses an enclosure structure composed of inner and outer carbon-fiber skins surrounding an aluminum honeycomb core.
Every cone driver in the M9 uses Magico’s eighth-generation Nano-Tec construction. Each diaphragm places an aluminum honeycomb core between graphene-infused carbon-fiber skins, creating an exceptionally rigid yet lightweight structure.
The supplied Magico MXO crossover manages the transition between the M9’s 15-inch bass drivers and 11-inch midbass drivers at 120 Hz. Performing this transition at line level avoids the extremely large passive components that would otherwise be required at such a low crossover frequency.

The M9 is a semi-active system supplied with the Magico MXO active analog crossover and external power supply. Four channels of external amplification are required for a stereo pair. Plan the signal routing, amplifier matching and installation with Audio Exchange.
The M9 is a substantial reference system. We assess the room, access route, loudspeaker positions, crossover and amplifier locations together before accepting the installation.
