RAINBOW

Ayumi Hamasaki - Rainbow (Vinyl)

Ayumi Hamasaki’s Rainbow is her fifth studio album, originally released on December 18, 2002, Marking a turning point in her career, the album reflects a shift toward a more personal and optimistic tone, blending polished pop production with emotional songwriting and a broader musical palette.

The album features a strong lineup of hit singles, including “Voyage,” “Free & Easy,” “H,” and “independent.” These tracks showcase Hamasaki’s ability to balance chart-driven pop with expressive ballads, helping Rainbow become another major commercial success in Japan and a key entry in her early-2000s catalog.

Notably, Rainbow was one of the first albums in Hamasaki’s discography to include English-language lyrics more prominently, particularly in its title track. This evolution in style gave the album a more international feel while maintaining the signature sound that defined her rise as one of Japan’s biggest pop artists.

This 2LP vinyl edition, released as part of recent Japanese reissue campaigns, presents the album across four sides for improved audio fidelity. For collectors of J-pop and fans of Ayumi Hamasaki’s peak era, Rainbow remains an essential addition.
