Description
Shigeo Sekito’s Special Sound Series Vol. 2: The Word is a seminal electone masterclass in sleek, melodic, and quietly futuristic. Beloved across scenes from hip-hop to Balearic and dream pop, the album’s centerpiece “The Word II” found new life via samples in Mac DeMarco’s “Chamber of Reflection” and HUNCHO JACK’s “How U Feel.” This colored-vinyl reissue presents the definitive listening experience with a gatefold package and newly translated notes by Chee Shimizu.
Highlights
- Pressed on clear green vinyl housed in a gatefold jacket with OBI
- Extensive liner notes by Chee Shimizu (Japanese + English)
- Originally released in 1975
