Sunshine Kiz: A Japanese City Pop Classic Restored and Remastered

Experience the enchanting sounds of Japanese City Pop with "Sunshine Kiz". This newly restored and remastered edition of the 1984 classic is a part of Piper's acclaimed City Pop Trilogy, following the success of "Gentle Breeze" and "Summer Breeze". The album, pressed on Blue Swirl Vinyl, showcases Piper's evolving musicianship and experimentations.

From Instrumentals to Vocals: A Shift in Piper's Style

"Sunshine Kiz" marks a significant shift in Piper's style, with the band moving away from their instrumental focus to a more vocal-centric approach. Replacing their LinnDrums with a Drumulator, the band introduced a more natural sounding percussion and even incorporated live drumming in some tracks. This evolution could be seen as a return to their roots or a blend of their original style with the unique sound they crafted in their previous "Breeze" albums.
