Description
John Carpenter's The Thing – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 2xLP (Waxwork Records)
Experience the haunting tension and chilling isolation of John Carpenter's 1982 sci-fi horror masterpiece with the deluxe vinyl reissue of *The Thing* original soundtrack. Composed by the legendary Ennio Morricone, this minimalist score is renowned for its cold, brooding ambiance—perfectly capturing the suspense and paranoia of the film’s Antarctic setting. Unlike most Carpenter-directed films, The Thing features a rare collaboration with an outside composer, and Morricone’s contribution has since become one of the most iconic soundtracks in horror cinema.
Released by Waxwork Records, this deluxe edition pulls out all the stops for collectors and audiophiles alike. Pressed on striking "Trapped Under Ice" colored vinyl and packaged in an old-style tip-on gatefold jacket with satin coating and UV spot-gloss, the reissue also includes exclusive artwork by Phantom City Creative and an 11"x17" collectible poster. Remastered for vinyl, this edition delivers the full, unnerving brilliance of Morricone’s original compositions in high-fidelity analog warmth.
