Bonded elliptical stylus · Moving magnet cartridge
Check your tonearm mounting, cartridge weight and phono input before ordering. A headshell combo still needs a compatible tonearm.

The matching stylus model is AT-VMN95E. VM95 stylus assemblies can be changed without replacing the cartridge body. Other VM95 profiles are compatible alternatives, but change the stylus specification. VM95 styli do not fit AT95E/AT95EX or the separate VM500/700 family. The /H version includes a headshell; its cartridge uses the same replacement stylus as the cartridge-only version.
Confirm the cartridge actually fitted to your turntable. Follow the replacement stylus instructions and required tracking force; physical fit alone does not make every stylus suitable for every record or use.
Complete cartridges and headshell versions are separate products. Check the tonearm connector, weight and setup requirements before choosing.

Preparing the Headshell/Cartridge: Before installation, ensure the stylus cover is securely in place. Handle the headshell and cartridge carefully as they are very fragile, and damage can often be costly.
Mounting the Headshell/Cartridge: Attach the headshell to the tonearm using the supplied hardware. Tighten the headshell nut securely, but avoid overtightening to prevent damage.
Setting Tracking Weight and Bias: Initially, set the tracking weight for balance. Adjust the tracking weight to the recommended range of 1.8-2.2g (2.0g standard) to ensure optimal performance and minimal record wear. Set the anti-skate or bias to match the tracking force.
Aligning the Cartridge: Use a tracking alignment gauge to ensure the cartridge is properly aligned. Adjust the cartridge position as needed to minimize distortion and achieve the best sound quality.
Final Adjustments: Once aligned, double-check the tracking weight and bias settings. Fine-tune the adjustments to achieve the best possible audio performance. Ensure that all connections are secure and that the tonearm is balanced correctly.
Tonearm Height Adjustment: If possible, adjust the tonearm height to ensure it is parallel with the record surface during playback. This adjustment can help optimize sound quality based on the specific design of the headshell and cartridge.
The model name tells you whether you are buying a cartridge, a replacement stylus, or a cartridge with a headshell.
C is conical; E is bonded elliptical; EN is nude elliptical; ML is MicroLine; SH is Shibata. These profiles have different playback and setup characteristics.
SP is for wide-groove 78 rpm shellac. It is not the choice for ordinary LPs or 45s, even though the stylus fits the same VM95 body.
