The design
The S3 2023 replaces the S3 Mk II with a new enclosure, driver platform and support system. Its dedicated 5-inch midrange separates vocals and instruments from the demands placed on two 9-inch bass drivers.
Four machined aluminum panels, a curved top plate and internal bracing address cabinet resonance and diffraction. A three-point outrigger base improves stability. Magico uses laser vibration analysis and Klippel acoustic measurements to refine the enclosure and driver integration.

Four machined aluminum panels form an enclosure with smoothly shaped edges and a curved top plate. Internal bracing and damping were refined using laser measurements of cabinet vibration. Magico reports a 30% quieter enclosure than the preceding S3 generation. A three-point outrigger base improves stability.
The 28mm diamond-coated beryllium tweeter uses technology derived from the M9. A dedicated 5-inch midrange and dual 9-inch woofers use aluminum-honeycomb cores sandwiched between graphene and carbon-fiber layers. This construction balances stiffness, low mass and damping to help reduce cone deformation.
The S3 2023 succeeds the S3 Mk II with a redesigned enclosure, drivers and support system. It sits between the S2 and S5 in the current S Series, giving listeners a way to compare cabinet size, bass capability and system requirements within the same family.
