The Concorde Music Blue features a Nude Elliptical diamond polished to the highest standards, mounted on a premium aluminum cantilever. This ensures the best possible transmission of the vinyl record groove modulations picked up by the diamond.
The exclusive Ortofon rubber compound used in the stylus suspension is developed and produced in-house, contributing to the overall performance of the phono cartridge.

Preparing the Cartridge: Before installation, ensure the stylus cover is securely in place. Handle the cartridge carefully as it is very fragile, and damage can often be costly.
Mounting the Cartridge: Attach the cartridge to the tonearm using the bayonet/SME connector. The Ortofon Concorde series is designed to fit an SME/Universal headshell, and thus has a set alignment. Ensure the cartridge is snugly fit into the tonearm and the ring tightened.
Setting Tracking Weight and Bias: Initially, set the tracking weight for balance. Add an extra 1.5-2.0g to ensure the cartridge sits correctly in the record groove. Set arm bias to zero. Check your cartridges technical specifications for recommended tracking weight.
Final Adjustments: Once aligned, tighten the mounting bolts without overdoing it. Adjust the tracking weight within the manufacturer’s recommended range using scales to fine-tune sound quality.
Tonearm Height Adjustment: If possible, adjust the tonearm height to be parallel with the record surface during playback, adjusting according to the specific cartridge design for optimal sound quality.
Moving Magnet (MM) Cartridges are known for their high output and user-replaceable styluses, making them cost-effective and easier to maintain. They generally provide excellent value with dynamic sound quality and are suitable for a wide range of phono stages.
Both types have their merits, and the choice between a moving coil and a moving magnet cartridge often comes down to personal preference and the specifics of your audio setup.
