The McIntosh MCD600 SACD/CD Player combines premium disc playback, flexible digital-source support, and a Quad Balanced DAC in one full-size McIntosh component. Its 8-channel, 32-bit PCM/DSD converter assigns four DAC channels to each stereo channel, while all PCM signals are upsampled to 32-bit/384kHz for detailed, low-noise playback.

Beyond commercial SACDs and CDs, the MCD600 can play CD and DVD data discs plus music files from a USB flash drive. Fixed and variable balanced and unbalanced outputs allow it to connect through a preamplifier or directly to a power amplifier, making this McIntosh CD player unusually flexible in a high-end stereo system.

A complete digital source

The MCD600 handles more than physical music discs. Its front USB input accepts compatible flash drives, while rear coaxial and optical inputs let its internal Quad Balanced DAC process other digital sources. Coaxial and optical outputs are also available when you prefer to use an external converter or processor.

Flexible system connections

Separate fixed and variable analog outputs are provided in both balanced and unbalanced formats. The variable outputs deliver up to 16.0Vrms balanced or 8.0Vrms unbalanced, allowing the MCD600 to control volume when connected directly to a compatible power amplifier. A High Drive headphone amplifier supports private listening without adding another component.
