The McIntosh MT10 Precision Turntable is a reference-level vinyl source built around a belt-drive system, magnetically suspended platter bearing, custom dural-aluminum tonearm and factory-installed McIntosh MCC10 low-output moving-coil cartridge. Tracking force, anti-skate and cartridge position are preset at the factory to reduce initial setup while preserving the precision adjustments expected from a serious high-end turntable.
Please note: The MT10 does not include a built-in phono preamplifier. Its 0.5mV moving-coil cartridge requires a compatible low-output moving-coil phono input or an external MC phono preamp. McIntosh recommends a cartridge load of approximately 400 to 500 ohms.
Reference McIntosh Vinyl Playback
The MT10 plays 33-1/3, 45 and 78 rpm records. Its electronically controlled brushless DC motor includes a braking feature and fine speed adjustment, while the illuminated front-panel meter provides a clear visual reference for platter speed. The green-lit silicon-acrylic platter and glass-fronted chassis visually integrate the turntable with classic McIntosh components.
MCC10 Low-Output Moving-Coil Cartridge Included
The factory-installed McIntosh MCC10 cartridge uses an ebony body, aluminum cantilever and elliptical diamond stylus. Its low 0.5mV output is intended for a high-quality moving-coil phono stage, while its 20Hz to 50kHz frequency response and greater-than-30dB channel separation are designed to retrieve fine detail and spatial information from the record groove.
Magnetically Suspended Silicon-Acrylic Platter
The substantial silicon-acrylic platter rotates on a magnetically suspended ceramic bearing. This arrangement minimizes mechanical contact and helps isolate the record from bearing noise and external vibration. The platter’s mass provides rotational stability, while its green illumination creates the unmistakable McIntosh visual signature.
Custom Dural-Aluminum Tonearm
The rigid tonearm is machined from dural aluminum and gimbaled in two sapphire horizontal bearings and two ceramic vertical bearings for extremely low friction. Vertical tracking angle, anti-skate and azimuth are adjustable, and the eccentric counterweight supports precise tracking-force setup.
