The McIntosh MT5 Precision Turntable is a factory-adjusted belt-drive record player built for listeners who want high-end vinyl performance without a lengthy setup process. It combines an illuminated, magnetically suspended platter, precision tonearm and preinstalled Sumiko Amethyst moving-magnet cartridge in a substantial McIntosh chassis.
The Amethyst cartridge uses an extended line-contact stylus and is compatible with standard 47k-ohm moving-magnet phono inputs. Cartridge alignment, tracking force, anti-skate and tonearm height are set at the factory, while fine adjustments remain available for system optimization.

The MT5 is designed for use with a moving-magnet phono input or an external phono preamplifier. Its 2.5 mV cartridge output and recommended 47k-ohm load make it straightforward to match with many McIntosh preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers.
The high-mass chassis, isolated motor and magnetic platter bearing are engineered to reduce vibration, resonance and mechanical noise. Its illuminated platter and classic black-glass styling make the MT5 visually consistent with a complete McIntosh two-channel system.
