2M Black: replace the stylus, retain the body
The Black uses a Nude Shibata diamond with a broad contact area along the groove walls. It is the step above Bronze for listeners seeking detailed stereo reproduction across the frequency range, with careful alignment helping the stylus perform as intended.
A replacement assembly, not a complete cartridge
This listing supplies the 2M Black stylus assembly, including the diamond and cantilever. A cartridge body and headshell are not included. Keep a correctly installed compatible body in place when renewing the stylus.
Match the exact cartridge and record format
2M / 2MR Black; also an upgrade for 2M / 2MR Bronze, including premounted versions.
The recommended tracking force for this assembly is 1.5 g. Verify the setting after fitting or changing a stylus, rather than assuming the previous adjustment is correct.

Questions before ordering
Will this stylus fit any Ortofon cartridge?
No. Match the exact cartridge family and model. Do not choose by color alone or assume that OM, Concorde Music, and 2M parts are interchangeable.
Can I upgrade Bronze with a Black or LVB 250 stylus?
Ortofon supports the Black and Black LVB 250 styli as upgrades within the Bronze / Black cartridge family, including the corresponding 2MR and premounted versions. Confirm the exact assembly and reset tracking force for the new stylus.
Can you match it from my turntable model?
The turntable model helps, but its cartridge may have been changed. Send us the current cartridge model and a clear photo if you are unsure.
What does the condition label apply to?
The condition statement applies to this individual listing. Read its description for the recorded inspection, packaging and accessory details. Do not assume the condition or contents of a new unit apply to an open-box or used item.
