The Ortofon 2M Blue moving magnet cartridge steps up from Red with a Nude Elliptical diamond stylus. Designed for listeners seeking greater resolution, dynamics and openness, it reveals more of the detail in a recording while retaining the replaceable-stylus convenience of the 2M range.
The Blue stylus, supplied with a complete cartridge
This listing includes the 2M Blue body with its Blue stylus fitted. The Nude Elliptical diamond is the key distinction from the Elliptical stylus used on Red. Ortofon’s split pole pin generator provides a 5.5 mV output for a suitable moving magnet phono input.
If you already own a compatible Red or Blue body, consider the 2M Blue replacement stylus instead. It can provide the Blue stylus upgrade without replacing the complete cartridge.
Confirm physical fit before choosing
The standard 2M Blue body uses half-inch mounting and weighs 7.2 g. Check your tonearm’s mounting arrangement, cartridge height clearance and supported weight range. This version does not include a headshell or come premounted; mounting, alignment and tracking-force adjustment are required.

Will this cartridge fit my turntable?
Check the tonearm’s half-inch mounting, cartridge height and supported weight range, then confirm you have an MM phono input. Some low-profile tonearms need a different body such as 2MR. Send us your turntable and current cartridge model before ordering if you are unsure.
Can I upgrade my 2M Red with the Blue stylus?
Yes. Ortofon supports the Blue stylus as an upgrade for the 2M Red and 2MR Red. You can retain a correctly installed, compatible cartridge body.
Can you match it from my turntable model?
The turntable model helps, but its cartridge may have been changed. Send us the current cartridge model and a clear photo if you are unsure.
Does a complete cartridge mean it is premounted?
A complete cartridge includes the body and stylus. A headshell is included only when the listing specifically says premounted. A standard cartridge still needs mounting and alignment.
