Ortofon 2M Red: an approachable start to better vinyl playback

The Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet cartridge is the entry point to the 2M range, pairing an Elliptical diamond stylus with an open, lively presentation and a touch of warmth. It is a practical choice for everyday record listening and for replacing a complete cartridge when both the body and stylus are needed.

A complete cartridge with room to grow

This version includes the 2M Red cartridge body with its Red stylus fitted. The removable stylus can be replaced as it wears, and a compatible 2M Blue stylus provides an upgrade path without replacing the Red body. Ortofon’s split pole pin generator delivers a 5.5 mV output for use with a suitable moving magnet phono input.

Choose the version that fits your setup

The standard 2M body uses half-inch mounting and weighs 7.2 g. Check cartridge height, tonearm weight range and mounting compatibility before ordering. The headshell is sold separately, and the cartridge requires mounting, alignment and tracking-force adjustment.
